SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS

Of all the sciences, the Holy Bible has more to say about astronomy than any other.
The Scripture speaks of the sun, moon, stars, the host of heaven, planets, and constellations.
It talks about the heavens, the firmament, and tells us that the lights in the sky were made for the earth, for man, to give light by day and by night, to serve as signs,
and to determine the seasons.

The twelve signs are like God's heavenly time piece if you will, much like our modern day clock, with each constellation having a biblical
meaning. The sun, the moon, and the comets are similar to the hour, minute, and second hands that move about the clock. As each of
these "Hands" move across particular constellations, they tell an amazing story, announcing the arrival of Great Tribulation

The Planisphere of Dendurah

"What modern day astrology does, is teach people to read THEIR sign
and to focus on themselves, where Biblical astrology or Biblical Astronomy
teaches to focus on God's grand plan for mankind."

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handy work. Day unto day uttereth speech,
and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard."

-PSALM 19:1-3

Zodiac Signs and Bible Truth

Each of the 12 signs pictorially represents a prophetic event in relation to the unfolding story of salvation in the history of the world.

What does the Bible say about astrology?

Sometimes confused with astronomy, which is the scientific study of the stars and celestial bodies, astrology has absolutely no scientific basis, and has no place in a modern society.

Horoscope Signs and the Bible

What do the horoscope signs have to do with the Bible?

The answer is that God created the stars and named the constellations long before demonic forces corrupted the meanings of the stars and enslaved people with superstitious horoscope addiction.

Feast of Trumpets
The Feast of Trumpets in the Torah (Hebrew Bible) is derived from the Hebrew: zichron teruah "a memorial proclaimed with the blast of horns") see the Book of Leviticus 23:24 that refers to the command to perform the ritual of the blowing of the shofar on the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

On September 29, 2008, at sunset began the feast of trumpets.
This begins God's New Year. Today the Dow fell-- 777points.

Feast of Trumpets (Christian Holiday) Wikipedia Entry

Some Christian groups, most notably those associated with Herbert Armstrong, also observe Rosh Hashanah, though they normally call it by the Biblical expression Feast of Trumpets. They believe that this day represents what is referred to throughout the entire Bible as "The Day of the LORD", the future time when Christ will return, fight the rebellious nations of the earth and establish His world-ruling government, the Kingdom of God.

There are many New Testament passages that mention trumpets, and those who observe the Feast of Trumpets consider that these trumpet blasts and the events mentioned in the New Testament are the actual fulfillment of what this day actually represents in Leviticus 23 and other passages in what they call the Old Testament.

For example, one passage from the Hebrew Bible that suggests a future fulfillment is Isaiah 27:13, which states "So it shall be in that day: The great trumpet will be blown; They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, And they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, And shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem" (NKJV).

Many of the New Testament passages are in the Book of Revelation, where there is a blowing of seven trumpets. In chapter 8, verse 6 it states, "So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound." The subsequent verses describe a variety of punishments somewhat intended to encourage humans to repent (which chapter 9 verse 20 suggests that they do not do). However, the Book of Revelation does suggest that positive developments occur on the seventh (and final) trumpet blast, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets (Revelation 10:7).

Specifically, many believe that Jesus will return on the final trumpet blast. This is partially based up Pauls writing in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. NKJV

Others who do not observe the Feast of Trumpets normally do acknowledge that the New Testament teaches that Jesus will return with the sound of a trumpet.

Important Solar Events

2003 May 31 and 2003 November 23 -- Two opposite polar eclipses in the same year -- a double "polar solar" -- and each in the corresponding warmer half of the year. The May 31st event is an annular solar eclipse that starts at the northern tip of Scotland and actually moves westward across Iceland and southern Greenland. The November 23rd eclipse is total, lasting up to 1 minute 57 seconds as it sweeps across Antarctica near the Amery Ice Shelf. Partial phases of each eclipse are visible from the respective Poles themselves.

2001 June 21 and 2002 December 4 -- A forty-mile stretch of the Atlantic coast of Africa, just north of Lobito, Angola, experiences totality twice in 18 months. The June 21st eclipse occurs just 4.5 hours after the solstice (winter in the Southern Hemisphere). The December 4th eclipse track passes 50 miles south of Victoria Falls in Africa, ending at sunset on the southern coast of Australia on the shoreline of the Great Australian Bight, near the Yalata Aboriginal Reserve.

2000 December 25 -- A partial solar eclipse , visible during mid-day from the entire 48 states of the U.S., graces the final Christmas Day of the Second Millennium.

2000 July 16 -- Another total lunar eclipse six months later will give early risers on the west coast of North America a chance to see the eclipsed full Moon set in the west at sunrise.

2000 January 21 -- A total lunar eclipse will be visible from all of North and South America and Europe, lasting for 1 hour and 18 minutes.
